NWDW SIS Verification
Why use this report?
You’ve configured the SIS Connector to enrich your assessment data—now it’s time to make sure everything is flowing correctly. This report is your verification tool, showing exactly what data has been synchronized from your student information system (SIS) to the Northwest Data Warehouse (NWDW).
Think of it as a pre-flight check: before you dive into assessment reports, you want to confirm that data is actually there and accurate.
What You’re Verifying
This report helps you spot-check:
Are students showing up with the right demographic information
Are program enrollments being captured
Are school enrollments reflected with the correct dates and grade levels
Catching issues here means your downstream assessment reports will be complete and trustworthy.
Why the SIS Connector Matters
Assessment platforms are great at tracking scores, but often they miss critical context-demographics, program enrollments, and school enrollments. That is the gap that the SIS Connector fills.
For example, Georgia Milestones reporting doesn’t track gifted student status on its own. With the SIS Connector, that designation flows from your SIS into your Milestones reports automatically. But you’ll want to use this verification report to confirm those gifted enrollments are showing up correctly before relying on them for analysis.
The Value of Historical Data
The connector synchronizes up to 12 years of historical data by default, giving you the runway for meaningful longitudinal analysis and cohort comparisons. This report lets you see how far back your data goes and whether you have the historical context you need.
NOTE: Some assessments have natural breaks in comparability (WIDA ACCESS for ELLs scores before 2016 use a different scale, for example), but having the historical SIS data available gives you flexibility.
What Gets Synchronized
The connector pulls these key data elements:
School information
Students and teachers
School and program enrollments
Courses and course enrollments
Use this report to verify each of these areas is populating as expected.
Getting Started
Seeing data in this report? Great! Review it to ensure everything looks accurate, then you’re ready to use your assessment reports with confidence.
Not seeing any data? The SIS Connector hasn’t been configured for your district yet. Let’s set that up.
Book an appointment to configure the SIS Connector, and we’ll walk through the setup together.
What to Prepare
Before your configuration appointment, identify someone from your team with the right SIS permissions:
PowerSchool districts need:
Plug-in installation and configuration access
Data Export Manager permissions
Export Template Scheduling permissions
Infinite Campus districts need:
Data Extract Utility access
One more thing: If your SIS is hosted on-premise, make sure your network allows outbound SFTP traffic (port 22 sftp.nwgaresa.com). Your IT teams can verify this quickly.
