Northwest Georgia Learning Resources System

Mission and Vision

Dear Teachers, Administrators, and Staff of the Northwest RESA region,

On behalf of our staff here at NW GLRS, welcome to our page! The following information is provided to assist you in planning professional development by highlighting a few of our services along with a brief description of each. Specific courses/trainings, dates and times, and registration information can be found on the Northwest Georgia RESA website at www.nwgaresa.com.

The Georgia Learning Resources System (GLRS) is a network of 17 centers across Georgia that provides assistance to local school systems in meeting the federal requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) and promoting the academic success, graduation rate, and post-secondary education of students with disabilities.  Northwest GLRS offers ongoing professional learning and resources to educators to assist them in implementing effective instructional strategies for students with disabilities.  The GLRS network also provides parents of students with disabilities with information and resources and coordinates with the Georgia Parent Mentor Program to enable them to be active participants in their children’s education.  While our trainings and courses provide assistance to special education teachers, many are also relevant to general education teachers, administrators and counselors who also serve students with disabilities.

Please review our information and let us know how we can be of service to you.  We look forward to working with you in improving student success in the Northwest Georgia region!

Sincerely,

DeAnna Williams, EdS
Coordinator
