Early Literacy Coaching

Northwest Georgia RESA partners with districts, school leaders, and school-based literacy coaches to strengthen early literacy instruction and build sustainable local coaching capacity. Our regional approach connects Georgia's early literacy priorities and evidence-based practices with district and school goals, structures, and ongoing work.

Our Regional Coaching Model

NWGA RESA's regional coaching model is designed to strengthen early literacy systems and practices, particularly in grades K-3. Regional literacy coaches (RLCs) and regional literacy leadership coaches (RLLCs) serve complementary roles, working with local coaches and leaders to support coherent, sustainable implementation.

Regional Literacy Coaches (RLCs)

For school-based literacy coaches (SBLCs)

Regional literacy coaches partner with school-based literacy coaches to strengthen coaching knowledge and practice, plan and reflect on coaching cycles, examine evidence of teaching and learning, and support evidence-based early literacy instruction.

Regional Literacy Leadership Coaches (RLLCs)

For district and school leaders

Regional literacy leadership coaches partner with district literacy contacts and school leaders to clarify roles, strengthen principal-coach partnerships, align priorities and plans, and coordinate implementation within existing district and school structures.

Our Approach

Regional literacy leadership coaches partner with district literacy contacts and school leaders to clarify roles, strengthen principal-coach partnerships, align priorities and plans, and coordinate implementation within existing district and school structures.

  • Coordinated

  • Impactful
